Wheatfield in Print

Children from Wheatfield School have had their 'Mini Sagas' (stories in exactly 50 words) printed in a new book called 'Little Legends', published by YoungWriters .

 The sagas are reprinted below:

 The Shoes

One afternoon I went to the shops. I saw a pair of lush shoes. They were £50; I only had £10. I went to the cashpoint. It took two hours. I went back to the shop and saw a sign on my shoes - 'reduced for quick sale £10'!

Untitled

One dry morning, Sid strolled down to the cafe to get a delicious cooked breakfast. Suddenly there was a gunshot and a horrific squeal. Everyone rushed outdoors. There was a dead crocodile in the road! The camera crew came out and the famous director shouted, 'Cut!'

 The Bag

One winter day I was walking along the road. I saw a bag by a shop. I was trying to get past the crowd of people. I managed to squeeze through. I got to the bag and was about to open it ...

I opened the bag ... empty!

The Eagle

One summer's day, I went to have a picnic. I was

about to eat my icecream when a fierce eagle came swooping down and raced at my icecream. While I was screaming, the eagle dropped five golden jewels.

My jaw closed ... I smiled.

Sam's Adventure

Sam, an adventurous boy, was walking sluggishly through the desert when he saw a gigantic eagle diving straight for him. He could see a river in the distance ... he raced for it! He dived in but a huge

crocodile bit his leg!

'Game over' came up on the computer screen.

The Picnic

Last time we had a picnic, we saw a bee weaving in and out of a tree. I investigated the nest. I summoned the others. They were getting angry. They struck! We were running wild! We only just escaped.

That night I heard a buzz ... in my shorts!
